Valley Radiation Oncology CenterTarzana, California ContactValley Radiation Oncology Center IntroductionValley Radiation Oncology Center (VROC) in Tarzana opened in February 1991 following the merger of Leslie E. Botnick, M.D., Arnold W. Malcolm, M.D., Christopher M. Rose M.D., and Mary Lou Ozohan M.D. Dr. Ozohan has been in practice in the Encino-Tarzana area since 1974. The merger allowed the construction of a state-of-the-art Radiation Oncology Center in the West San Fernando Valley. The center is a collaborative treatment and research effort of Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center and Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group. The radiation oncologists participate in weekly Tumor Boards, and multi-disciplinary conferences at Tarzana Regional Medical Center, where physicians share information on the latest in medical information and technology. We also participate in nation-wide clinical trials, allowing individuals to receive treatment that would not otherwise be available. FacilityVROC is the most modern Radiation Oncology center in the West San Fernando Valley, with technology comparable to that found in large university hospitals. A full complement of services is available, including a simulator, two linear accelerators, high and low energy photon and electron beams, multi-leaf collimator, CT based treatment planning, conformal radiotherapy, brachytherapy, and 3-D planning with PET-CT fusion assistance when indicated. We have one of the most active prostate implant programs in the area. PhysiciansThe physicians who deliver the radiation treatments at VROC include Leslie E. Botnick, M.D., and Mary Lou Ozohan, M.D. Both are certified by the American Board of Radiology and are committed to bringing state-of-the-art Radiation Therapy to the West San Fernando Valley. PersonnelCertified radiation therapists deliver the treatments and collaborate with physicians during the treatment planning process. Patients are supported by full-time oncology certified nurses, a nutritionist, and full time physics department. The personnel and physicians meet on a weekly basis to review the treatment and progress of every patient, and to insure a coordinated and efficient treatment approach. AppointmentsTo make an appointment for a consultation, please call (818) 774-2860. Consultations are scheduled between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. All pertinent records, including operative, laboratory, pathology, and x-ray reports, and histologic slides should be available to ensure a complete and comprehensive review. Therefore, in order to obtain the maximum benefit from your consultation, the staff will ask that you bring these records with you if you received prior care at a center other than VROC. Physicians involved in the patient's care are often consulted and kept informed of the patient's progress at all times. Our group has agreements with all of the local insurance plans, but authorization and a referral from a primary care physician is usually required by HMO plans. Please bring with you to your first appointment your insurance card and other identifying data, including phone numbers and emergency contacts.
