Robert B. Ash, M.D.

Dr. Ash joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates in 2007.  He is a Canadian-trained radiation oncologist who is board-certified in both the United States and Canada.  After completing his undergraduate medical training at Memorial University of Newfoundland, he completed his post-graduate training at Memorial University of Western Ontario.  He was Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario as well as Chair of the Thoracic Multidisciplinary Team and Director of Undergraduate Medical Education for Oncology.  Currently, he is Director of Radiation Oncology at St. Joseph Hospital, Orange.  In addition to general radiation oncology, Dr Ash has an interest in thoracic malignancies as well as genitourinary malignancies.  He is also trained in prostate brachytherapy..

Tanuja A. Bhandari, M.D.

Tanuja A. Bhandari, MD joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group in November, 2007 and practices at Vantage Radiation Oncology Treatment Centers in Riverside and San Bernardino, California. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California, Irvine followed by a Medical Degree from The American University in Coral Gables, Florida. She completed 2 years of post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Affiliate Hospital of Johns Hopkins University. She then completed her residency in Radiation Oncology at Allegheny General Hospital-Drexel University Program, which serves as the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) Headquarters.

Dr. Bhandari is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and American Association for Women Radiologists. She has special interest in radiation therapy for breast, colorectal, and prostate cancer.

Leslie E. Botnick, M.D.

Dr. Leslie Botnick is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at Valley Radiation Oncology Center in Tarzana, CA.  Dr. Botnick is the Chief Executive Officer of Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group.  He received a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Brooklyn College followed by a Medical Degree from New York Medical College.  He interned at Metropolitan Hospital in New York before serving his residency at the Harvard Joint Center for Radiation Therapy in Boston.  He later became Chief Resident at the Joint Center.  He was Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.  Dr. Botnick has written over 40 publications on Breast Cancer, Hodgkin's, Head and Neck Cancer and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Repair.  Dr. Botnick is currently associated with several Health Systems throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties in California, including the nationally renowned John Wayne Cancer Institute, as well as in Colorado and New Mexico.  Dr. Botnick is also listed in Who's Who of Doctors in America and in Good Housekeeping magazine as a leading physician in the treatment of Breast Cancer.  Dr. Botnick is a regular participant on the notably syndicated weekly radio show "The Group Room," a show dedicated to the clinical and psychosocial support of cancer patients.  Areas of expertise include Breast, Prostate, Pancreatic and Rectal Cancer as well as Hodgkins and Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Marc I. Botnick, M.D.

Dr. Marc Botnick joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates in 2000 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA, and Valley Radiation Oncology Center in Tarzana, CA.  He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania followed by a Medical Degree from the Hahnemann University School of Medicine.  He completed his Radiation Oncology residency training at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York where he dedicated an entire year towards advanced brachytherapy training.  He is experienced at HDR and permanent seed prostate implants in addition to implants for Head and Neck, Gynecological, Lung and soft tissue malignancies.  He serves as one of the primary brachytherapists of Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group, performing prostate seed implants at several facilities including Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, St. John's Health Center and the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance.  Areas of expertise include Prostate, Head and Neck, Pancreatic and Colorectal Cancer as well as High Dose Radiation on Gynecological Cancers.

Nancy A. Cersonsky, M.D.

Nancy A Cersonsky, MD joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group in October, 2007 and is working as a Radiation Oncologist at Swedish Medical Center, Englewood, Colorado. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Colorado, Denver.  She completed her internship at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, an affiliate of Mt. Sinai Medical center in NYC. Her Radiation Oncology Residence was completed at University of Cincinnati Hospital in Ohio.  She is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Medical Association, American Society for Clinical Oncology; Dr. Cersonsky’s treatment specialties include Stereotactic Radiosurgery for brain and thoracic malignancies and Prostate Brachytherapy.  She has a special interest in radiation therapy for CNS, breast, gastrointestinal and skin malignancies.

Helen K. Chen, M.D.

Dr. Helen Chen joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates in 2001 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, CA, and Valley Radiotherapy Medical office in Monterey Park.  She grew up in the San Gabriel Valley and is trilingual in Chinese, Spanish and English.  She was a Kodak Scholar and honored Phi Beta Kappa at Stanford University, where she received her B.S. with Distinction.  She earned her M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco and completed a medicine internship at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena.  Her residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of California, Irvine allowed her to gain expertise in interstitial brachytherapy.  She was a hyperthermia research fellow at the City of Hope National Medical Center.  She practiced for one year in the San Gabriel Valley prior to coming to the Little Company of Mary Hospital Cancer Center in Torrance, California in 1995.  Her interests include breast cancer, optimizing 3-dimensional conformal radiation techniques and community teaching and outreach in oncology.  Areas of expertise include Breast and Lung Cancer, Gynecological Cancers, Brachytherapy, and Palliative Care.

Marshall Davis, M.D.

Dr. Marshall Davis joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates in 2001and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist. Dr. Davis is the Medical Director at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, CO. He was the former Director of Radiation Oncology for the Little Company of Mary Hospital Cancer Center in Torrance, California and was also the director of Radiosurgery at the Newport Diagnostic Center in Newport Beach, California. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University and received his Medical Degree from the University of Nebraska Medical School. He interned at Denver Presbyterian Medical Center and completed his Radiation Oncology residency at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center under the direction of Doctors Steven Leibel and David Larson. Dr. Davis has been previously involved in the development of the “Cyberknife”, a robotic stereotactic radiation delivery system. The first Beta test site, located at Newport Diagnostic Center undertook initial phase I (feasibility) data collection treating intracranial targets.  Dr. Davis later served as principal investigator for their Institutional Review Board and was involved in developing/implementing investigational protocols for performance of body radiosurgery using the Cyberknife, treating prostate cancer and spinal tumors. Areas of expertise include gynecologic cancer, head and neck cancer and stereotactic radiosurgery.

Dechen Dolkar, M.D.

Dr. Dechen Dolkar joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates in 1999 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. She also received her MD degree from the University of Southern California. After interning in medicine at White Memorial Medical Center, she completed her radiation oncology residency at UCLA. In addition to general Radiation Oncology practice, areas of expertise include IMRT, Intravascular Brachytherapy, and Head and Neck Cancer.

 

Nancy A. Ellerbroek, M.D.,F.A.C.R.

Dr. Nancy Ellerbroek joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates in 1993 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist.  Dr. Ellerbroek is the Medical Director at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, CA. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics, as well as an M.D. degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. After she completed her residency in Radiation Oncology at UCLA in 1987, she spent three years on the faculty of the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where she achieved the title of Assistant Professor of Radiotherapy. She spent the following three years at Loma Linda University Medical Center, where she achieved the title of Associate Professor of Radiation Medicine. She performed research and teaching at each of those facilities, with special interest in the treatment of breast, head and neck, and lung cancer. Dr. Ellerbroek is Past President of the Southern California Radiation Oncology Society, and is currently President of District 17 of the Los Angeles County Medical Association. She is the current Vice President of the American Association of Women Radiologists. She serves as a Counselor to the Radiological Society of North America, and on the Editorial Board of the journal Radiology. Areas of expertise include the treatment of patients with Breast and Prostate cancers.

Ramez Farah, M.D.

Dr. Farah joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group in April 2004 and is the Medical Director at Vantage Radiation Oncology Center in Riverside.  He is Board Certified in Radiation Oncology.  He completed his residency at The University of Chicago under the chairmanship of Dr. Ralph Weichselbaum.  He received special training with world renowned, pioneers Radiation Oncologists like Professor Bernard Pierquin, Professor Brigit Van Derwerf Messing, Professor Sam Hellman, and Dr. Lionel Cohen.  He served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago for five years during which he was active in clinical research and published a number of articles on Hodgkin’s Disease, Lymphoma, and Prostate Cancer.  His areas of expertise include IMRT, HDR brachytherapy for GYN malignancies, and prostate seed implants.

Afshin Forouzannia, M.D.

Dr. Afshin Forouzannia joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates in 2003 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, CA.  He received his B.A. from Michigan State University in 1994 and completed medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Michigan in 1998.  He did a one-year internship at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan before beginning his residency at the University of Wisconsin. For the final two years of his residency, Dr. Forouzannia acted as chief resident and has been an instructor for several medical school courses at the University of Wisconsin.  He has had extensive experience with breast brachytherapy during his residency and has published several abstracts on the subject.  Dr. Forouzannia’s areas of clinical expertise include Brachytherapy, Breast, GYN and Prostate.

Garth A. Green, M.D.

Dr. Garth Green joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates in 1999 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist.  Dr. Green is the Co-Medical Director at Little Company of Mary Hospital Cancer Center in Torrance, CA and Medical Director of Little Company of Mary San Pedro Hospital in San Pedro, CA. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Greek. He received his M.D. from Tulane University School of Medicine, and completed his residency training at the University of Southern California. After serving as a fellow in radiation oncology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he returned to the department of radiation oncology at the University of Southern California School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor.  Areas of expertise include Central Nervous System Tumors, as well as Gastro-intestinal, Head and Neck, and Prostate Cancer.

Judith A. Harrison, M.D.

Dr. Judith A. Harrison is a board certified Radiation Oncologist and practices at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, CA and Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Initially at Michigan State University, a dual BS degree in Mathematics/chemistry was completed in the Honors College Program.  Luckily an AEC Fellowship allowed completion of a MS degree in Bioradiology at U.C. Berkley.  The use of radiation in medicine fascinated my interest and I went on to obtain an M.D. at UC San Francisco and later was specialty trained in Radiation Oncology at UC Irvine.  Over the last 35 years, I have been Director of Radiation Oncology at St. Joseph Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Orange County.  I maintained a clinical position at UC Irvine Medical School and have been advanced to Clinical Professor.  I am still excited by the technological advances in my field and look forward to patient care every day.

Janet M. Hocko, M.D.

Janet Hocko, MD joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group in December, 2006 and is the Medical Director at Vantage Radiation Oncology Therapy Center in Riverside. Dr. Hocko is board certified in Radiation Oncology. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of California Irvine. She completed her residency and internship at Loma Linda University Medical Center and was an Assistant Professor there for many years.

She is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Medical Association, San Bernardino County Medical Society and Los Angeles Radiological Society. Dr. Hocko’s treatment specialties include brachytherapy for gynecological malignancies. She has a special interest in radiation therapy for breast, gastrointestinal and lung malignancies.

 

Rex Hoffman, M.D.

Dr. Rex Hoffman joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group in 2001 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of California, San Diego. He attended medical school at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana where he received his medical degree. He completed his internship at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, before heading to the University of California, San Francisco for a residency in Radiation Oncology. During his four years at the University of California, San Francisco, he co-authored an article on Managing Lung Cancer Brain Metastases with Radiosurgery as well as papers on the management of anal, penile and urethral cancer. Two papers, one on gastric cancer and a second on nasopharyngeal cancer brachytherapy are in progress. His interests include the management of brain tumors, with conventional external beam radiation therapy and radiosurgery, as well as gastro-intestinal cancers.

Linas J. Kazlauskas, M.D.

Dr. Linas Kazlauskas joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates in 2001 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist.  Dr. Kazlauskas practices at Vantage Radiation Oncology Centers in San Bernardino and Riverside, CA.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Loyola University of Chicago, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush Medical College.  Dr. Kazlauskas completed his internship and residency in Radiation Oncology at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago.  Areas of expertise include Prostate, Lung, Skin and Breast Cancer.

Young S. Lee, MD

Dr. Young Lee joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates in 2006 and he practices at our two Orange County facilities, St. Jude Medical Center and St. Joseph of Orange Hospital.  He received a B.S. in Engineering and Applied Science from Caltech and his M.D. from UCLA School of Medicine.  After completing his residency at University of California, Irvine, in 1992, he worked at City of Hope as a staff Radiation Oncologist.  He developed in-house multi-disciplinary clinical trial for locally advanced Head and Neck cancer patients at City of Hope.  He was the primary investigator for a phase II clinical trial using electrochemical therapy before he joined the staff at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange in 1996.  Dr. Lee’s areas of clinical expertise include prostate cancer, head and neck cancer and brachytherapy.  He serves as the co-director of the Prostate Brachytherapy Program at St. Joseph Hospital.  Dr. Lee is an avid soccer fan, player and a coach.  He is fluent in Korean.

Bernard S. Lewinsky, M.D., F.A.C.R.

Dr. Bernard Lewinsky received his board certification in Radiation Oncology in 1974. His undergraduate years were at UC Berkeley where he received a Bachelor's degree in Biology. He received a Master's Degree in Biology from the University of Oregon in 1965. His Medical training was at University of California, Irvine, receiving his medical degree in 1969. After a year's internship at LA County-USC, he started his training at Saroni Tumor Institute in San Francisco. He spent a year of Fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London, England, and then completed his training at the West Coast Cancer Foundation, San Francisco in 1974. After two years as Chief, Radiation Therapy Service at Letterman Army Medical Center as his Military duty in the Army, he came to Los Angeles and began his practice at Western Tumor Medical Group in 1977. Dr. Lewinsky has been at WTMG since that time and became its President and owner in 1994. He has received the Medal of Commendation for his services in the Army and has also been recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Radiology.

Dr. Lewinsky has developed special interest in Breast and Prostate cancers and has authored and co-authored many peer-reviewed articles in the Medical literature and has also written several chapters in Medical textbooks. His main interest outside of the Medical field is Nature Photography. He believes there is a healing aspect and connection between nature photography and the human body and mind. James M. Mason, M.D.

Dr. James Mason is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at the Vantage Radiation Oncology Centers at Wildomar and Redhawk. He received both his BS and MD degrees from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Following this, he completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in radiation oncology at Wayne State University. Subsequently, he graduated from Harvard University’s School of Public Health with an MPH in 2004.

Prior to relocating to Southern California, Dr. Mason was a staff physician for 6 years at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Mason has published articles on breast and lung cancer. His areas of expertise include HDR brachytherapy, LDR brachytherapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy, prostate brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, 3D conformal radiation therapy, and mammosite®.

Mary Lou Ozohan, M.D., F.A.C.R.

Dr. Mary Lou Ozohan joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates in 1991 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist.  Dr. Ozohan is the Medical Director at Valley Radiation Oncology Center in Tarzana, CA. She graduated from the University of Manitoba College of Medicine before interning and serving her residency at the LAC-USC Medical Center. Prior to joining the Medical Group, she was Director of Radiation Therapy for the Radiation Oncology Medical Clinic of Tarzana. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles County Medical Association and the recipient of the Life Achievement Award of the Hermanos en La Lucha Contra el Cancer League. Dr. Ozohan was awarded a Fellowship by the American College of Radiology in September 1998. Areas of expertise include Breast and Gynecological Malignancies as well as High Dose Radiation for Gynecological Cancers and Skin Cancer.

Terence J. Roberts, M.D.

Dr. Terence Roberts joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates in 2003 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at Vantage Radiation Oncology Center in Wildomar, CA.  He received his B.A. in 1984 and his medical degree in 1987 from Johns Hopkins University.  He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Arkansas before returning to Johns Hopkins for his residency. After residency, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Arizona from 1991 to 1993 and then entered private practice in Fort Smith, Arkansas. From 1995 through 1998, Dr. Roberts attended law school at Stanford University while continuing to practice Radiation Oncology part-time.  He practiced corporate law for four years before spending a year as a clinical fellow at the University of California San Francisco.  During his fellowship, Dr. Roberts focused on Brachytherapy and Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy.  His clinical areas of expertise include cancers of the head and neck and central nervous and genitourinary systems.

Brian Ronson, M.D.

Dr. Brian Ronson joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group in 2005 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at Vantage Radiation Oncology Centers in Wildomar and Temecula, California.  He received a B.A. in Biology from Johns Hopkins University and his M.D. degree from University of Maryland.  He completed his residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center, where in his fourth year; he focused on brachytherapy, gaining additional hands-on experience through the Seattle Prostate Institute and its affiliates and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.

He has published articles on cancer gene therapy, pituitary adenomas, non-hodgkin’s lymphoma and prostate cancer.  He has also authored a provisional patent that addresses the use of electromagnetic radiation to focus the deposition and action of anti-cancer drugs.  Dr. Ronson’s areas of clinical expertise include prostate cancer and brachytherapy, brain tumors and lymphoma.

Christopher M. Rose, M.D., F.A.C.R.

Dr. Christopher Rose is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank, CA.  Dr. Rose is both the Technical and Associate Director of Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group. He received his B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and M.D. from Harvard Medical School. Upon graduation, he served an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, followed by a residency in Radiation Oncology at the Harvard Joint Center for Radiation Therapy. Dr. Rose was Visiting Clinical Scientist at the Institute for Cancer Research, Royal Marsden Hospital, University of London in Great Britain. He was an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School. He is currently an Associate Clinical Professor of Radiation Oncology at the UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Rose is past-President of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the professional society of Radiation Oncology. He is Past President of the Council of Affiliated Regional Radiation Oncology Societies of the American College of Radiology, Past President of the California Radiation Oncology Society, and Counselor of the American College of Radiology. He is the Expert Physician reviewer for radiation oncology for Transamerica Occidental Medicare Administration and advisor to the Health Care Financing Agency Clinical Practice Expense Panel. Dr. Rose has published more than 50 articles on the treatment of Breast Cancer, Head and Neck Cancer and physico-chemical methods of radiation sensitization. He is listed in Best Doctors in America. Maira E. Simental, M.D.

Dr. Maira Simental joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates in 2005. Prior to her position at St. Bernardine Medical Center she was Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at La Sierra University in Riverside, and a Doctor of Medicine degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Dr. Simental completed her internship in Family Medicine at the San Bernardino County Medical Center and her residency in Therapeutic Radiology at Loma Linda University Medical Center. She received her board certification from the American Board of Radiology in therapeutic radiology. Dr. Simental specializes in the treatment of gynecologic, breast, lung, brain, head and neck cancers. She is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, The American College of Radiation Oncology and the California Medical Association.

Paul Y. Song, M.D.

Dr. Paul Y. Song joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group in 2007 and practices at Vantage West Hills Radiation Therapy Center in West Hills, CA. He graduated with honors from the University of Chicago and received his Medical degree from George Washington University. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of Chicago in 1995 where he also served as chief resident and was honored as an ASTRO research fellow for 1995-96 by the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology pursuing research in genetic radiotherapy. Dr. Song was also a visiting brachytherapy fellow at the Institut Gustave Roussy in Villejuif, France. He is board-certified.

Dr. Song was an attending physician in the department of radiation oncology at Inova Fairfax Hospital from 1996-2003. In 2003 he became an attending staff physician in the Dept. of radiation oncology and co-chief of the brachytherapy service at the Center for Prostate Disease Research at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He was named one of the top doctors in Washington, D.C. by Washingtonian Magazine and Consumer Checkbook in 2002 and 2005.

Most recently, Dr. Song was an attending physician and clinical instructor at the Little Company of Mary/University of Chicago Cancer center in Evergreen Park, IL.

Dr. Song has established very successful HDR and prostate seed brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, and IMRT programs de novo and has published several articles on the treatment of prostate cancer and brain tumors.

Ronald W. Thompson, M.D., F.A.C.R.

Dr. Ronald Thompson joined Valley Radiotherapy in 2002 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA.  He received his BS from the University of San Francisco in 1960.  He attended medical school at Stanford University, and completed his Internship at the University of Oregon.  Dr. Thompson completed two residencies, the first in General Surgery at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, California and the second in Radiation Therapy at Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, California.  Dr. Thompson also spent 6 years in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Captain in the Medical Corps from 1966-1972. From 1973 to 2002, he was the Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Cedars Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center, and in 1981, he was named a Fellow by the American College of Radiology.  Dr. Thompson also holds an adjunct professorship at University of California, Los Angeles.  Dr. Thompson has published extensively on Lymphomas, Radiosurgery, Breast Cancer and Brachytherapy.  His clinical areas of expertise include cancers of the prostate, breast, skin and head & neck cancers.

Tara A. Washington, M.D.

Dr. Tara Washington is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at the Vantage Radiation Oncology Centers in Wildomar and Temecula, California. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her Medical Degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed her residency training in Radiation Oncology at the Loyola University Medical Center. Subsequently, she joined the Wayne State University School of Medicine Radiation Oncology Department which is now affiliated with the Karmanos Cancer Institute.

Dr. Washington served as a key member of several Multidisciplinary teams including those focused on Breast, Gastrointestinal and Central Nervous System Cancers. She has specialized training and experience in the use of Partial Breast Irradiation and Gamma Knife Radiosurgery. Dr. Washington has also been an invited speaker for multiple professional and community groups as well as local media outlets on topics ranging from Contemporary Issues in the Management of Localized Breast Cancer to Current Recommendations for Cancer Screening.

Robert C. Wollman, M.D.

Dr. Robert Wollman is the Medical Director of the Department of Radiaology and Chairman of the Cancer Committee at St John's Health Center. His areas of expertise include prostate, bladder, breast, brain, melanoma, lung, gastrointestinal, head & neck cancers, as well as IMRT/IGRT (Intensity Modulated/Image Guided Radiation Therapy). He has lectured widely on prostate cancer, skin cancer and head & neck cancer.  Dr. Wollman's publications include articles on the outcome of radiation for prostate cancer, the hormonal regulation of breast cancer, as well as chanpters in the text book Cancer Medicine.

Dr. Wollman graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and he received his Medical Degree from New York University School of Medicine. His internship was spent at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York and his residency was completed at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where he served as Chief Resident in Radiation Oncology.

Henry Yampolsky, M.D.

Dr. Henry Yampolsky joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group in 2007 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at The Center for Radiation Therapy of Beverly Hills and Vantage Radiation Oncology Center in Tarzana.  He completed his Radiation Oncology specialty training at the University of Southern California/Norris Cancer Center and LAC+USC Medical Center.  While at USC, Dr. Yampolsky acquired broad clinical expertise in the treatment of a wide range of cancers, as well as extensive experience with intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic radiotherapy and gynecologic brachytherapy.  In addition, Dr. Yampolsky has designed and participated in several clinical trials investigating novel cancer treatments.  He has presented his research in lymphoma/leukemia and in radiation treatment planning techniques at several scientific meetings.

Dr. Yampolsky is one of only a few Russian-speaking radiation oncologists in Southern California.  He grew up in the former Soviet Union where he studied computer science at one of the most prestigious universities in Moscow.  After immigrating to the United States in 1992, Dr. Yampolsky graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.S. in Biochemistry.  He received his M.D. degree from the University of Southern California.  His areas of interest are image guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS).

Robert P. Zimmerman, M.D.

Dr. Robert Zimmerman is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He graduated from the UCLA School of Medicine where he was selected for membership in the honorary medical society, Alpha Omega Alpha. He served his medical internship at UCLA's San Fernando Valley Program at the Olive View Medical Center and the VA Sepulveda Medical Center in California. Dr. Zimmerman completed his radiation oncology residency at the UCLA Department of Radiation Oncology in Los Angeles.

Dr. Zimmerman has done extensive research in cancer treatment, and was the recipient of an American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology Fellowship and a RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award. His scientific research work has resulted in numerous publications and presentations pertaining to radiation oncology. Dr. Zimmerman has served as Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Texas A&M University College of Medicine. He is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American College of Radiation Oncology and is Board Certified in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Zimmerman has had extensive experience with HDR implants for GYN cancer and Prostate Brachytherapy with permanent seed implants as well being an early adopter of CT guided IMRT using the Tomotherapy Hi-Art system.

He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
