Dr. Ronald Thompson joined Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group in 2002 and is a board certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at Little Company of Mary Cancer Center in Torrance, CA.  He received his BS from the University of San Francisco.  Dr. Thompson attended medical school at Stanford University and completed his Internship at the University of Oregon.  Dr. Thompson then completed two residencies, the first in General Surgery at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, California and the second in Radiation Therapy at Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, California.  Dr. Thompson also spent 6 years in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Captain in the Medical Corps from 1966-1972.  From 1973 to 2002, he was the Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Cedars-Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center, and in 1981, he was named a Fellow by the American College of Radiology.  Dr. Thompson also held an adjunct professorship at University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Thompson has published extensively on Lymphomas, Radiosurgery, Breast Cancer and Brachytherapy.  His clinical areas of expertise include cancers of the prostate, breast, skin and head & neck cancers.
